Well, this article made my Wheaties go down a little easier this morning. The Post-Gazette (and as Deaner pointed out in the comments to my last post) is reporting that the PBC is close to signing Freddy Sanchez and buying out a few years of his free agency and avoiding their arbitration hearing. If the reports are correct, it will be a three year deal. As I mentioned in my previous post I think that this is a good sweet spot as far as the years go. There is no mention of how much the contract will cost the Bucs, but given what they have been offering other free agents, I think it will be a good deal.
